Author Visits

I love discussing writing with students and with enthusiastic adults. I’m happy to visit a school, library or writing group to talk about writing and to share what I’ve learned.

As a former supply teacher, I’m comfortable engaging students in a school setting. An ideal location is a school library or classroom set up so that each student has a comfortable writing space, but I am open to different venues and workshop styles.

Suggested writing workshop topics:
-Story structure (beginning, middle and end, and points in between)
-The writing process (brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, fine-tuning)
-Writing from life (students draw on own experiences; will also touch on descriptive writing)
-Descriptive writing (power verbs, focus on the five senses)
-Character development

Email me at to discuss booking an author visit of any kind. I look forward to working with your writers!
